In a casual beach wedding Camille Linick and Luke Stewart were married on April 4th 2009 in Orange Beach, Alabama. The couple rented several gulf front houses for their guests and the realxed reception was held under a tent on the beach in front of the rented estates. They served and array of Mexican food and margaritas. Fun was had by all dancing and singing karaoke!

Ever wondered what happens to all those bridesmaid dresses once the wedding is over? I was in my neighborhood charity shop yesterday when I spotted one: the proverbial shiny triple tiered pink that looked as if all the air had been let out of the ruffles. This, like countless other once-worn pastels hang in many a thrift shop or stuffed away in the back of a closet. More resourceful bridesmaids have been known to make pillows and patchwork throws out of them.

Do your bridesmaids a favor. Consider whether she’ll actually be able to wear her dress after the wedding, especially if she’s shelling out the $250-300 going rate

Kathlin Argiro is "Tim Gunn" of Online Fashion World

Kathlin Argiro has been chosen as the mentor for the "It" Designer contest hosted by MyItThings.com, a leading website specializing in user-generated fashion content.

Bringing Fashion to the forefront of the Web World, contestants were asked to submit five of their best designs to be judged by an online audience.

"This is an amazing opportunity for designers to get exposure. It's natural that the technology world and the fashion world would eventually collide. Then internet can open doors for designers that never existed before. The It Designer contest is the Project Runway for the Internet Generation," commented Kathlin Argiro.

The contest, which launched on May 12 of this year, closed last month on July 15 with over 100,000 votes from MyItThings.com users. The three top designers were given $1500 to work on their spring collection as well as a personal mentoring session with Kathlin Argiro. They will be displaying their work at a fashion show on October 15 in Manhattan.

WINNERS: Nora delBusto (Chicago), Wakana Koike (NYC), Adolfo Sanchez (Las Vegas).

When Kathlin Argiro's signature pink and white dressong (dress / sarong combo) came with different tying instructions I couldn't imagine all would actually work on my body. So I had to try them all (including my own one-shoulder "invention").

Daniel Weinstein, an abstract expressionist from Long Island, based one of his newest painting off of a Kathlin Argiro dress! Weinstein saw his friend, who had shopped with Kathlin Argiro, wearing the "Kathlin Argiro Magic Dress" (recently worn by fashion guru Stacy London). The colors inspired him to create an abstract painting which he named "Melanie's Dress".

The Divas Who Dine event at the Kathlin Argiro studio, which took place on June 26, was a big hit! Hosted by Tamsen Fadal of CW News and Lifetime's Matched in Manhattan, Ms. Fadal is also the president of the women's networking group Divas Who Dine.

The doors opened at 6:30 as Divas crowded into the studio, sipping cool summer cocktails provided by Barefoot Wine and Pama Liquers. Kathlin Argiro did a demonstration of her Hot New Summer Sarong Collection which left the studio entirely sold out of sarongs!

A few prizes were given out including a Kathlin Argiro Shopping Party for 10 friends and tickets to the season premier of Kyra Sedgwick's TNT hit The Closer.

Kathlin, a Georgetown Visitation Academy graduate of 1988, has been involved in the Visitation Academy community since she started designing their formal graduation dresses for the Bicentennial Anniversary in 1999.

Each class has two representatives that collect ideas and inspiration from the girls about what they are looking for in a graduation dress. After a meeting with the representatives, Kathlin submits a proposal with three potential styles complete with fabric swatches and sketches in which the class democratically votes for the dress they will wear on Graduation Day.

This year has been particularly special because Kathlin also visited The Convent of the Visitation in January, the Minnesota sister school to Georgetown Visitation. There the girls were allowed to choose from a variety of styles from the regular Kathlin Argiro White Graduation Dress Collection. Kathlin worked one-on-one with the students to find a silhouettes and styles that worked best with their bodies while staying within the guidelines of the administration.

Kathlin Argiro designed a one of a kind prom dress for the Minnesota teen who spent April 11th in NYC getting her hair and make-up done by celebrity stylists. At the Kathlin Argiro studio on West 38th St. Mandi got modeling tips from supermodel Emme and had a one-on-one dress fitting with Kathlin Argiro.
